Tuscaloosa P.D. looking for hit and run suspect

TUSCALOOSA-The Tuscaloosa Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating the driver and/or vehicle involved in a felony hit and run accident that occurred late Saturday night. The accident happened around 8:45pm in the 900 block of Greensboro Avenue near the Battle-Friedman House.

The victim, 65-year-old Willard Forward, was loading chairs into his parked pickup truck when he was struck by what witnesses described as a light colored SUV travelling southbound. TPD’s Accident Reconstruction responded and processed the scene, recovering what appeared to be white paint fragments near the accident site.

The investigation is being handled by TPD’s Hit and Run Investigation Unit.

Mr. Forward is listed in stable condition at the DCH Trauma/Surgical ICU.

The suspect vehicle may be a light colored or white SUV and should have damage to the right front tire and rim and possibly a broken, amber corner or side-marker lens.
