Tuscaloosa County fugitive captured after foot chase

A man wanted on drug charges in Tuscaloosa County was tracked down and captured today.
According to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Law Enforcement Officers from Tuscaloosa Sheriff’s Office, Fayette Co. Sheriff’s Office, Fayette Police Department, 24th Judicial Task Force and the US Marshal’s Gulf Coast Task Force responded to County Road 140 in Fayette County to arrest David Casey Miles, 32.
The officers went to the location at 2:15am CT, Thursday, September 10, 2009.
The officers made contact with a female at the residence who advised Miles was not at the residence.
At that moment, a deputy with the Tuscaloosa Co. Sheriff’s Office observed the suspect, Miles, exit the garage and run from the residence.
Miles was given several commands to stop or K9 would be released.
He refused to obey the commands.
A K9 was released and apprehended Miles.
Miles was found to be in possession of a handgun and a shotgun was recovered at the scene.
Miles was taken into custody and charged with the following outstanding warrants obtained by the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force:
Trafficking Meth
Unlawful Manufacturing
Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance
Carrying a Pistol without a License
Two counts of Possession of a Firearm with Altered ID
His bond is set at $247,000.
