Trial continues for ex-doctor accused of sex abuse

DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) - The case of a former doctor accused of groping a female patient during a 2006 emergency room visit has gone to trial.
   
The patient said Gregory Johns entered her exam room alone and groped her while she was unable to defend herself. The patient was 19 at the time of the incident and said she was taken to Southeast Alabama Medical Center in a heavily intoxicated state on Nov. 4, 2006, when Johns touched her.
   
Johns was arrested about a week after the incident. The patient is one of two females who claimed they were physically groped by Johns during emergency room visits. Another female is expected to testify on Wednesday about a September 2007 incident. Johns’ license to practice medicine has been revoked by the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners.
