Train Hits and Kills Man in Jasper

Jasper Police tell us a train hit and killed a man Monday at 9:00 a.m.
The man was crossing the tracks at 20th Street and 5th Avenue when the crossing arms came down and bells sounded.
The train engineer sounded the whistle, but the man stepped on the tracks and was hit.
He died on the scene.  Police have not released his identity.
