The Day Ahead

The Day Ahead-Wednesday, July 16, 2008:

-An informative workshop on biofuels will take place on July 16th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hoover Public Safety Center, 2020 Valleydale Road.  The workshop will feature biofuels experts offering industry and research insights into current and future applications for biofuels in Alabama, including biodiesel, ethanol, compressed natural gas, and propane.

-Veranda on Highland, one of Birmingham’s premier restaurants, will feature acclaimed Nashville songwriter Drew Holcomb as part of the “Veranda Summer Singer and Songwriter Series” on July 15th and 16th at the restaurant at 2220 Highland Avenue South. For both shows, cocktails are available beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m. and the show at 8:15 p.m. The cost for each night is $75, which includes a three course dinner and the show. Seats are limited and require reservations, which can be made by calling Veranda on Highland at (205) 939-5551.
