The Birmingham Water Works Board extends water service, fire protection

(BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Oct. 29, 2009) The Birmingham Water Works Board (BWWB) Board of Directors voted to install 3,660 feet of pipeline and one fire hydrant in the city of Warrior. This project is being implemented to extend water service to the area and ensure fire protection.

The BWWB will be installing approximately 3,200 feet of 8-inch pipe, 460 feet of 4-inch pipe and one fire hydrant along Greathouse Road and Dogwood Court located in unincorporated Jefferson County.

The total cost of the project is $171,729.94, which will be paid for under an Actual Cost Extension of Mains Agreement executed by the Jefferson County Commission, at no out-of-pocket cost to the BWWB.
