Stork Craft cribs recalled due to suffocation hazard

» 0 Comments | Post a Comment

Stork Baby Cribs and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission have announced a voluntary recall of more than 500,000 cribs due to a suffocation hazard.

The cribs were sold at several U.S. and Canadian retailers including Walmart, K-Mart, Costco and J.C. Penney.

They were also available through several online retailers.

Support brackets used to hold the mattress can break, allowing the mattress to collapse and leave space for a child to become trapped.

At least one child has been injured.

The CPSC is urging parents and caregivers to immediately stop using the recalled cribs and find an alternative, safe sleeping environment for their baby.

Consumers should contact Stork Craft to receive a free replacement kit, with new mattress support brackets.

Stork Craft can be reached toll-free at (866) 361-3321 anytime to order the free replacement kit, or consumers can log on to http://www.storkcraft.com.
