BUTTE, Mont. (AP) – Sen. Barack Obama is celebrating the Fourth of July on the campaign trail in Montana.

Sen. Obama, Michelle Obama, his wife, and their two daughters watched the Independence Day parade in Butte.

The Democratic presidential candidate apologized for not walking the parade route, citing security concerns that he says might have ruined everyone’s fun.

The Obama family are not just celebrating the nation’s birthday, but also the birthday of older daughter Malia, who turns 10 today.

The parade crowd broke out into a rendition of “Happy Birthday” in her honor.

“All the fireworks and stuff are not just for her.“ said Sen. Obama

Sen. Obama joked that he told the birthday girl, his daughter, not to get caught up in all the fuss.

The Obamas are also slated to host a “family picnic” for hundreds of people that will double as both a campaign rally and a birthday party.

Bill Clinton is important. However, I don’t think he is as important as many think he is?

He was good during his era. Is he now? or has he lost his edge?

Do we want another President who in the face of new data is not smart enough to alter his strategy?

The TV and other news media continue to think that they run each presidential campaign.  CNN and others do this by using their experts to tell us what the candidates mean and what we think. The American public is smart enough to figure out what and who they want.  I wander what would happen if the TV and other media were silent for a couple of weeks.

What happened to reporting the news. Today CNN and others attempt to make the news turn out to be what they want it to be.

Thanks for CSPAN!!
