The Southeastern Conference is certainly making it’s mark on the olympic games. 159 current and former SEC athletes are competing in Beijing.

21 from University of Georgia
16 from LSU
16 from University of Tennessee
14 from the University of Alabama
13 from University of South Carolina
9 from University of Arkansas
6 from University of Kentucky
2 from University of Mississippi
2 from Mississippi State University
1 from Vanderbilt University

Former Auburn swimmer Kirsty Coventry became the first Auburn swimmer to win a medal at this year’s Olympics when she took silver in the 400-meter individual medley in Beijing’s ‘Cube.‘
