MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The Save Alabama PACT group has
organized caravans from several Alabama cities to attend a board
meeting of the prepaid college tuition plan in Montgomery.
Organizer Patti Lambert of Decatur says she’s unsure how many
will participate, but she’s hopeful of a good turnout for
Wednesday’s board meeting.
The board of the Prepaid Affordable College Tuition plan is
meeting in the Capitol auditorium to discuss how to keep paying
tuition when its long-term obligations are greater than its
investments.
Save Alabama PACT wants the Legislature shore up the program’s
finances.
