A ruling today from a Jefferson County judge will keep bingo halls in Walker County closed, for now.
Judge Robert Vance issued the order, after several bingo operators were requesting a stay to the Judge’s previous ruling saying the business were operating illegally.
In the Judge’s order, the Court saw the motions to stay open would constitute illegal gambling.
The pending motions for stay pending appeal were denied.
The defendants may now seek a stay from the Alabama Supreme Court.
