Red Cross Needs Help

The Birmingham Chapter of the Red Cross was out in full force Saturday, giving away hot chocolate, hoping people would give back a donation in return.

The Red Cross’s station at Brookwood Mall for the National Day of Giving stayed busy.

The Red Cross is asking people to help build its Disaster Relief Fund back up.

Recent floods, hurricanes and tornadoes have depleted that fund down to dangerously low amounts.

The Red Cross wants to raise $100 million nationwide this year.

Organizers set target amounts for each state.

The goal for Alabama - $2.2 million.
