Police Arrest Two Robbery Suspects

The Birmingham Police Department has arrested two male suspects in connection with the robbery (carjacking) of a 32-year-old man, which occurred on Saturday, September 13, 2008, at 1600 Summit Place and the robbery (carjacking) of a 36-year-old man, which occurred on Monday, September 15, 2008, at 2525 Highland Avenue.
The suspects used a handgun during the commission of the two robberies. The suspects took a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe from the 32-year-old victim and a 2002 Volvo S60 from the 36-year-old victim. There were no reported injuries.
Police report both vehicles have been recovered. The Volvo was reportedly used during a robbery in Rainbow City, Alabama, in which the suspects wrecked after a high speed chase. Two weapons were recovered from the Volvo. The FBI is reportedly considering charging the defendants with the Federal Statute of Carjacking.
The suspects have been identified as Antwun Anderson, 21, and Kiriakis Coleman, 17, both of Birmingham, Alabama. Both are being held on a Robbery 1st Degree warrant, under a $120,000.00 bond. Both suspects are in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail.
