Oxford Store Robbery Suspect Arrested In Georgia

A man suspected of robbing a convenience store in Oxford has been captured in Georgia.
According to a news release from Sgt. L.G. Owens of the Oxford Police Department, Frederick Bishop of Lineville, AL allegedly robbed the Skinners Super Shop East on Hwy 78 in Oxford on August 28, 2008.
Police say Bishop told the clerk he had a gun in a bag, then pushed the clerk out of the way to grab money in the cash register.
Bishop left the scene in car, which was followed by store customers, who were able to report to police a partial tag number.
On September 2, 2008, Bishop is accused of robbing a pharmacy in Bowdon, GA, and was later captured.
Bishop is in the custody of the Carroll County, GA Sheriff’s Office, charged with robbery, carjacking, theft and battery.
Bishop has a hold placed on him by the Oxford Police Department.
