OZARK, Ala. (AP) - A Newton man has pleaded guilty to stabbing
his wife to death in front of their two young children on Christmas
Eve.
On Monday 42-year-old Darrin Keith Johnson pleaded guilty to
murder in Dale County Circuit Court.
District Attorney Kirke Adams said Johnson used a knife to stab
Allison Fuller Johnson multiple times inside the family’s home.
Adams said Johnson had come over to the house on Christmas Eve to
confront her about their pending divorce.
Johnson will remain in jail without bond.
Adams said the couple’s two boys, ages 5 and 14, are living with
relatives. He said Johnson will likely be sentenced within four to
six weeks.
Johnson’s lawyer, William White, called his client remorseful
for the murder.
