NEW: Police & suspects injured in Jasper chase

JASPER, Ala:  A chase in Jasper ends with the police & suspects airlifted to UAB hospital in Birmingham.

Jasper police tell NBC13.COM the officers were watching a certain area for drug activity.  That’s when officers began following a car carrying 3 suspects.  A second police car joined in the chase, the wreck happened shortly after on 15th Avenue, near Dino’s Barbeque. 

Investigators tell us 2 police officers and all 3 suspects were airlifted to Birmingham.  We are told their injuries are significant, but not life-threatening.
