Sunday night, a new movie aired about the disappearance of Mountain Brook teen Natalee Holloway.

The Lifetime network movie called “The Natalee Holloway Story” starring Tracy Pollan as Beth Holloway Twitty.

The movie is based on Beth Twitty’s book Loving Natalee: A Mother’s Testament of Hope and Faith.

Folks across the country tuned in to watch “The Natalee Holloway Story” - including Birmingham attorney Charlie Ratcliff, a man who was born in Aruba but now lives here.

He says Natalee’s disappearance is still a difficult topic for folks in Aruba.

“To say it’s been devastating to the island is an understatement. Devastating emotionally. A lot of people are heart broken and horrified one of our guests was missing. There just wasn’t anything we could do to make her come back,“ says Ratcliff.

The Justice Minister of Aruba Rudy Croes obstructing justice in the case of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Croes claims that Jan van der Straten intentionally messed up the case due to nepotism.

How could anyone in Aruba have allowed van der Straten to be the lead investigator in the case with such a conflict of interest as being friends of Paulus Van der Sloot, the father of the prime suspect in the case of Natalee’s disappearance?

Justice-minister Rudy Croes says this now that he feels attacked by the former chief of police and the first investigation leader of the case.  Van der Straten has criticized certain aspects of the Police Corps (KPA) earlier this week.  “He has also compared our Guarda Nos Costa with a politically driven group ŕ la Chávez (Venezuelan president)”, says Croes.  “He is an activist of the opposition party AVP, that’s why, but he forgets that it is the Natalee Holloway-case that was driven by favouritism.”

Aruba’s Justice Minister Rudy Croes confirmed that Van der Straten delayed the start of investigations in order to protect his friend, Paulus van der Sloot, the father of Joran who is the main suspect in the case. Paulus was working for the Justice Ministry at the time.

“I actually wanted to wait till my retirement next year to bring this into the open”, continues the minister.  “But the time has come to tell the truth.  When the case came to light, I heard Van der Straten say literally:  ‘I can’t let this happen to my friend Paul’.  And then during the first ten days, there were heavy telephone traffic between him and Paul van der Sloot.”

According to Croes, Van der Straten has perhaps consciously deployed the so-called flexiteam after the disappearance of Natalee.  “He said in May 2005: ‘I can solve this with my flexiteam’.  As everybody knows, the flexiteam was a team that was put into action when the regular police team was over-occupied; for example during carnival.

A detective could be included in the team, but it was no police-team that was capable of doing an investigation.

Why didn’t he call in the taya-team (police officers with a lot of expertise and experience)?”

Hero Brinkman is the Dutch equivalent to David Duke - a far right wing racist who hates the Antillies with a passion.  Whatever he says about Aruba should be taken with a ton of salt.

Whether or not I have emailed him is nobody’s business but his and mine, by the way.

Hero Brinkman asks please, if you know anything, e-mail him, write to him. He will try to encourage the Dutch parliament to fully investigate this matter, because the truth has to come out for all people, for the Americans, for Aruba, and also for the Dutch parliament.

Hero Brinkman, a member of dutch parliament states Aruba is corrupt as he_ _.

Hero reports, the Dutch know that there is a lot of corruption in Aruba, and they don’t want to do anything about it.

Charlie have you emailed him?

I guess I should just come here a couple of times a day to re-post that Aruba is not the enemy and wishing harm on innocent people is not going to solve the case.

Spreading malicious lies about Aruba in order to sustain a failed boycott hasn’t worked so far but, if it makes you feel better about yourselves, have at it.

“Sorry Charlie” being from Aruba I would have thought you saw that report.

I’m BOYCOTTING TOO!

GRETA VAN SUSTEREN, FOX NEWS HOST: A member of the Dutch parliament slams officials on the island of Aruba, allegations of a cover-up and corruption related to the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.

Again, you have your “facts” completely wrong, legalwatch.  The only problem with human trafficking on Aruba is illegal aliens that are smuggled on to the island because Aruba has such a strong economy.

And your claim of corruption remains unproven.  Aruba has a democratically elected government and freedom of speech and press.  This is an election year.  If the Aruban people feel that their government is corrupt, they will surely vote the incumbants out of office.

As for Joran’s “admissions” to Greta, even Greta didn’t believe them.  Otherwise, why would she have sat on the story for six months before airing it on her show?

As I said before, if you think that vigilante justice and punishing innocent people on Aruba will solve the case, go for it.

Aruba is known for human trafficking and, yet, there are no alarms going off on their island when Joran Van der Sloot admits to selling Natalee? And, what of the corruption that he told Greta about? Corruption is, exactly, what has made this charade all possible.

Three long years and, still, nothing from Aruba? Although there are private citizens that agree with the boycott of Aruba and know of the corruption that exists there, the Dutch, as a government, are not willing to do anything about it… why? What about Natalee’s human rights?

BOYCOTT ARUBA!

Okay, legalwatch.  If you think that vigilante justice and punishing innocent people on Aruba is the answer to the case, go for it.

You are correct this has been going on for more than 15 years.

I am glad that the tourism industry in Aruba has suffered since Natalee’s rape and abduction.

Jan saw your site, sorry I was not impressed. Very difficult to navigate. All theory and no facts.
