Man allegedly assaults girlfriend with a sandwich

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (AP) - Call it a case of assault with a luncheon weapon.

A Florida man is accused of hitting his girlfriend in the face with a sandwich while she drove.

Police say Emmanuelle Rodriguez was angry with his girlfriend. And she nearly lost control of the car when she was smacked the sandwich.

Authorities charge Rodriguez also ripped off the rear-view mirror and used it to shatter the windshield.

He’s been charged with domestic battery and is free on $7,500 bail.
