Jewelry story in Gardendale (outside Birmingham) gives away free silver cross necklaces to people who lost their jobs or homes. Mike Royer reports.GARDENDALE, Ala.—A local jewelry store is helping is helping folks deal with tough economic times.
The owner of Jeff Dennis Jewelers is giving away 100 free cross necklaces to anyone who has lost their jobs or their home. Jeff Dennis said there is no purchase is necessary.
Dennis was recently the victim of a burglary. He said he feels like the crime is a reflection of the hard times people are facing.
Dennis said, “People really need hope, they need faith, hopefully in a down recession and that type thing, they’ll turn to the cross, and that’s what gave me the idea to do it.“
Jeff Dennis Jewelers is located in Gardendale.
