MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - A judge has refused to block the sale of
Richard Scrushy’s palatial Lake Martin home.
The estate, valued at some $7 million, is to be sold at auction
Monday at the Tallapoosa County courthouse. It’s part of an attempt
by HealthSouth shareholders to collect on a $2.9 billion judgment
against the company’s former CEO.
Scrushy had asked Jefferson County Circuit Court Judge Allwin
Horn to block the sale of his assets, but the judge refused on
Thursday.
