Jesse Jackson raps Artur Davis, then backs off

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The Rev. Jesse Jackson is no longer being critical of Rep. Artur Davis of Birmingham for voting against a health care overhaul bill in the House.
The civil rights leader earlier had questioned how a black man could vote against the health care overhaul measure. He didn’t name Davis, but Davis was the only member of the Congressional Black Caucus to vote against the bill.
Jackson released a statement Thursday saying he has talked to Davis and admires him. Davis is seeking the Democratic nomination for governor of Alabama in 2010.
Jackson said he does not challenge Davis’ integrity as a leader.
Davis has said he supports health care reform, but disagrees with the approach taken in the House bill.

Don’t for one minute believe that Davis voted against because he believes it’s a bad thing (which it is) As stated in the other comment, he only voted against it because he wants to win the gubernatorial election and there is no way he would even have a chance to win this red state if he voted yes.
Don’t trust Davis as far as you could throw him. He went to college with Obama. They’re pals. A vote for Davis is just as bad as a vote for Obama.
I don’t care who you vote for, just don’t vote for this man. PERIOD.
And Jesse Jackson is a racist hypocrite. He’s such a piece of dirt he make skinheads and white supremacists look like they stepped out of a Rockwell painting.
jesse jackson should go on back to africa and preach to the hyenas
Don’t kid yourself Davis only voted against it becuse he is running for Govenor he is a die hard Obama guy he is in his pocket all the way
