The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and other local law enforcement agencies are searching for a prisoner who escaped from the custody of a bailiff Wednesday morning at the Criminal Justice Center.

Deputies say Marlon Tall, 37, escaped from Judge Lawley’s courtroom just after 10 a.m.

The bailiff let the inmate use the restroom, leaving him there unsupervised, then later found the restroom empty with the inmate’s jail uniform on the floor.

Officials do not know if the escape was planned with civilian clothing placed in the restroom.

Tall has been in jail since September 10 after failing to appear for three attempted murder charges and for failing to appear on a charge of discharging a gun into an unoccupied building.

Marlon Tall is 6’2” and 252 lbs.

If you know where he is, call police or the sheriff’s department.
