BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Chief Judge Scott Vowell, along with Jefferson County District Attorney Brandon Falls, met with Jefferson County judges to discuss ways that the courts can help Jefferson County’s financial crisis.

The judges were asked to look at the nonviolent criminals on their dockets who have not been convicted.

They are going to work to get the prisoners released on bond rather then incarcerating them.

The judges will be meeting regularly to figure out a way the courts can help the counties financial situation.
