Two Jasper police officers were injured when their patrol car collided with another vehicle on 14th Ave near Deno’s Bar-B-que. They were helping other officers in pursuit of suspects that had fled from them.

Cain said the driver of the Beretta was apparently running from another Jasper police officer who attempted to stop the vehicle on Alabama Highway 69 South near Ice House West just moments before the accident occurred at approximately 8:10 p.m.  Three people were reportedly riding in the Beretta, two males and a female. Their names and conditions have not been released.

Chief Cain said the officers were traveling south on 14th Avenue and the other vehicle was traveling north when they collided head-on at the top of the hill.
