A Homewood police officer shot a suspect during a traffic stop.BIRMINGHAM, Ala—A Homewood police officer shot a suspect during a traffic stop.
It happened last night around eight.
A Homewood police spokesman says Homewood officers followed a car into Birmingham.
They pulled the car over on Martin Luther King Drive near Nassau Avenue Southwest.
Police say one of the people in the car showed a gun and wrestled with an officer.
Police shot him.
He was taken to UAB Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say other suspects are in custody.
