Highway Accidents Across Alabama Kill 3 On Sunday

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP)—At least three people were killed in traffic accidents on Alabama roads Sunday.

Alabama state troopers said two of the wrecks involved motorcycle riders in Lee and DeKalb counties.

In Lee County, the coroner’s office said 31-year-old Toby Curtis Wagner of Auburn died when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a vehicle at an intersection in Loachapoka. The accident happened at about 8 p.m.

Another motorcyclist died in DeKalb County. Troopers said the wreck occurred on Highway 176. The victim’s name and other information was not immediately available.

17-year-old Katie Burkett of Gardendale died in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 65. Authorities said the car Burkett was driving overturned Sunday just after 10 a.m. near mile marker 227 in Shelby County.
