High School Girls Arrested for Vandalizing Cheerleader’s Home

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Eight Mary G. Montgomery High students were
arrested at the school for allegedly vandalizing the home of a
cheerleader.
Mobile County School System spokeswoman Nancy Pierce said the
girls were taken into custody at the Semmes area school Thursday
morning. The Press-Register said witnesses reported that the girls
were handcuffed when arrested.
Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Lori Myles said the girls ranged in
age from 15 to 18 and were charged with conspiracy to commit
criminal mischief. The cheerleader’s home had salt poured on grass,
killing it in patterns, along with toilet paper on trees and other
vandalism.
Chase Dearman, a lawyer representing the girls, said they had
already been charged with criminal mischief in connection with the
July 1 vandalism, but a plea death was not accepted.
