GRANT, Ala. (AP) - Grant Mayor-elect Larry Walker has been
charged with harassment after a woman claimed he inappropriately
touched her.
Marshall County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Heath Thomas said
Wednesday that Walker turned himself in to authorities Tuesday
after learning the woman had filed a complaint against him.
Walker was released on a $500 bond. He received 73 percent of
the votes in a three-way race Aug. 26 to win the mayor’s office. He
and other newly elected municipal officials are to take office Nov.
3.
A message left for Thomas wasn’t immediately returned Thursday,
and Walker didn’t know if he had a lawyer.
