A fugitive is behind bars, after being captured in Etowah County.
Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin says John Colvin, 62,  is currently being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on a fugitive from justice warrant.
Rainbow City Police officers arrested Colvin at 3327 McClain Street, Hokes Bluff on Wednesday, April 29th at 10:45 am CT.
Colvin was served the fugitive warrant on Friday, May 1, 2009.
Colvin was picked up for numerous felony warrants from Westwego Police Department and Jefferson Parrish, Louisiana that include theft and misapplication of funds.
Rainbow City Police Detective Greg Carroll has been working the case with Louisiana law enforcement since November 2008. 
Colvin has refused to sign a waiver of extradition.
Law enforcement in Louisiana is working to attain a governor’s warrant to transport Colvin to the state.
He is being detained on a $50,000 cash bond.
