Final Presidential Debate Wednesday Night

NEW YORK (AP) - The presidential candidates are getting ready
for one final side-by-side comparison.
The third presidential debate, at Hofstra University on New
York’s Long Island, is intended to focus on the economy and
domestic policy—though voters heard a lot on those subjects at
the first two.

John McCain and Barack Obama will be seated at a desk with the
moderator, Bob Schieffer of CBS.

Both candidates released proposals this week for how to boost
the economy.

With polls favoring Obama in a growing number of states, the
stakes in this last debate are higher for McCain. He unveiled a
possible debate strategy yesterday: the argument that on the
economy, he’ll be different from President Bush and better than
Obama.
