Federal Money Awarded to Jefferson County Fire Departments

Two fire departments in Jefferson County will share more than $100,000 in federal grant money.
According to a news release, Congressman Spencer Bachus announced that federal fire grants totaling $101,889 have been awarded to the Adamsville Fire and Rescue Service and the Sylvan Springs Fire Department.
Adamsville will receive $38,000 to help in buying two defibrillator monitors to be carried on fire trucks.
Sylvan Springs will receive $63,889 for a conversion to a new digital communications system.
