Fatal crash investigated in Northport

The Northport Police Department is investigating a fatal crash.
Officers responded to a traffic accident at the intersection of Watermelon Road and U.S. Highway 82 at 2:13 a.m. CT Tuesday, March 24, 2009.
Officers determined a pickup truck struck a sedan in the rear at a high rate of speed.
All four passengers in the sedan sustained serious injuries, and one of the injuries to one passenger was fatal.
The driver of the pickup truck sustained non life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck, Axton Heath Bond, 20, of Lucedale, MS, was arrested and charged with DUI.
Killed in the crash was Jermaine Jones, 22, of Aliceville.
