Elkmont Bank Robbery Suspect Hit Same Bank In 1995
ELKMONT, Ala. (AP) - A Madison man who robbed a bank in Elkmont 13 years ago is accused of doing it again.
Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely said 38-year-old Timothy Lynn Wallace was arrested and the cash recovered after he wrecked his truck while trying to flee. He was held in the jail on a $50,000 bond Tuesday.
Wallace allegedly went into Superior Bank in Elkmont at 5 p.m. Friday as it was closing and no customers were inside. Authorities said he wore a bandanna and pointed a gun at the three female tellers, making two get on the floor and ordering one to get money out of the vault and drawers. Authorities were called when the robber left.
Wallace robbed the same bank in 1995 and received a 12-year, seven-month sentence.
