Detectives Launch Door-To-Door Search for Nadia Kersh

Detectives from Birmingham and Homewood spent Tuesday canvassing the neighborhood where 23-year-old mother Nadia Kersh’s car was discovered after her disappearance.

Officers executed a 2-part strategy.

First - to check out the area’s abandoned houses, businesses and warehouses.

Secondly - officers wanted to raise awareness about Kersh’s case.

“We did an initial search here when her car was recovered, but we didn’t go door to door, looking through the woods. We want to get out here and let people know,“ says Lieutenant Ken Atkinson of the Homewood Police Dept.
Let residents know that Kersh is still missing and that there’s a $35,000 reward on the table.

Detectives say it’s a good possibility someone noticed whomever dumped Kersh’s car - or perhaps maybe even Kersh herself.

“We feel like somebody in this area saw or knows something about this case. So we’re out here, pounding the pavement looking for evidence, witnesses, anything that will aid us in working this case,“ says Atkinson.

Nadia Kersh was last seen leaving Tria Market on the afternoon of November third for her lunch break.

Although detectives say Tuesday’s search hasn’t turned up any new clues yet, they’re not giving up hope.

Officers are still waiting for the FBI lab in quantico to finish processing some forensic evidence collected during their initial sweep of Kersh’s car and home.
