Convicted sex offender back in Calhoun County jail

A convicted sex offender in Calhoun County has been arrested again and charged.
According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, John Gaines Gourley, 67, from Anniston, was arrested and charged with Violation of Community Notification Act.
He is being held in the Calhoun County Jail pending a $5,000 bond and has a court date of December 3, 2009.
In 2001 Gourley was convicted of Possession of Child Pornography and Transportation of Child Pornography.
Gourley was arrested on October 13, 2009 as a result of changing his residence without first notifying local law enforcement.
