Code Orange Air Quality for Birmingham
Published: July 21, 2008
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - A hot stagnant air mass has prompted
Birmingham regional authorities to issue a Code Orange Air Quality
Alert.
Officials said ozone and particle pollution Monday in Jefferson
and Shelby counties could be unhealthy for people with respiratory
problems including children, older adults and adults who spend a
lot of time outside.
The Alabama Partners for Clean Air ask the public to reduce
driving and avoid using gas powered engines and eliminate all
outdoor burning.
