BREAKING NEWS: Jefferson County, Alabama commission votes down sales tax holiday

In a 3 to 1 vote, the Jefferson County, Alabama commission voted to not participate in the August 4th through 7th sales tax holiday.  Bobby Humphries was the only commissioner to vote no.  Jim Carns did not attend the meeting.  Details on this story on NBC13HD News at Midday.

That’s too bad - I was planning on shopping in JeffCo during that time - Hello Shelby Co! I thought I read somewhere they were supposed to make their decision to participate or not before July 6.  Typical of them to wait until the VERY LAST MINUTE to make a decision.

That will only motivate people to spend there money in other counties.

ROFLMAO! The JeffCo commission really knows how to make people laugh.

This proves their steadfast motto is…

“The people WILL pay for our POOR leadership and foolish MISTAKES.“

I honestly think of the Keystone Cops when I think of the JeffCo commission.
