Flood warning in Blount Co.

A flood warning has been issued until 11:15 am for Blount County
with several roads closed due to flooding. Three to four inches have rain
has fallen been reported in the county over the past 12 hours
Blount County EMA reports the following emergencies coming
into the 911 system:
Wide spread road flooding is being reported by 911 in Blount County.
Some of the reports include: Tim King Rd - 3 mi W of Oneonta;
car stuck in 2’ of water on Hoods Cross Rd - 2.5mi E of Oneonta;
car stuck in water up to headlight on Valley Tr, Smokerise;
basement flooded Elm St, Oneonta; water over rd on Smith Rd,
4mi SE of Oneonta; swift water over Tumlin Rd at State Hwy 160 4 mi SW of Hayden;
water over Springville Blvd at Boat landing rd, Oneonta; road closed by
water Reid Rd at Sugarland Lake; River Rd closed at Co Hwy 27 -2 mi S
of Highland Lake. Reports still coming in.
3 to 4 inches have rain has been reported in the county over the
past 12 hours
. Do not drive your vehicle across water covered roadways,
find an alternate route. An additional 2-4 inches of rain is possible today
therefore a Flash Flood Watch has been posted for much of our area.
There will also be a threat of severe thunderstorms including tornadoes
in our area from noon until 10pm tonight.
