Birmingham’s 11th Annual Battle of The Bands

BIRMINGHAM—- If you were anywhere near Legion Field Sunday night - you heard it: The battle was between the bands, but the fight to keep thousands of fans safe was top priority.
 
This was the first big event for students after Birmingham imposed a new stricter teen curfew.  Birmingham police enforced the curfew law for children under 17. Minors had to be in by 10 p.m in order for parents to avoid a $500 fine. After the third offense parents of wandering minors could face jail time.

“I don’t care about the fines I would much rather parents take control of their kids and keep them safe,“ said Birmingham Police Chief AC Roper. More than a dozen bands from across the Southeast battled for bragging rights. Headline performers included rap artist “G” and Soulja Boy.

Organizers call the 11th annual Battle of the Bands a success because there were no safety issues to report.
