Billy Graham: The Movie Hits Theatres This Fall
GARDENDALE—You may think you know all about evangelist Billy Graham, but a new movie hitting theatres this fall will give you a deeper look. Preacher Films produced the movie, “Billy The Early Years.“ It’s a fictional love story based on fact and research about Graham’s childhood, his courtship with his wife and his call to the ministry.
Evangelist Billy Graham preached to hundreds of millions and advised ten American presidents.
Audiences find the story of his early years both charming and funny. Graham’s story appealed to all ages.
“Eighteen-year olds as Billy was then are wild and wooly if you will. They are ready to go and change the world and they sometimes miss the boat but Billy had someone to guide him,“ said Pastor John Lott of Rock Creek Church of God.
Thursday Gardendale First Baptist Church members saw an unfinished directors cut of the film. The movie will be previewed in churches in 50 cities, before it’s released on the big screen.
“We like to hear what pastors have to say. It’s a Christian movie based on an icon who has done amazing things just by having faith in God,“ said movie promoter Nicole Lowes of In Service America.
“The movie shows we (pastors) are real people and we do have a love story to tell, but the main love story is that Jesus loves us and has a plan for us,“ said Lott.
“Billy: The Early Years” will be released October 10, 2008 on 300 screens in select cities.
