Bessemer police investigate hotel murder

BESSEMER, Ala.—- Bessemer police are investigating the case of a man found murdered in a hotel room Thursday.

Devellyn Wilson, 54 of Hueytown, was discovered in the America’s Best Value Inn in a hotel room 9th Avenue SW across from the Bessemer Civic Center around 10:30 a.m., according the Detective Perry Hurst.

So far, Hurst said they are not releasing the cause of death and the exact time of death and motive are unknown.

Wilson’s death is Bessemer’s 11th homicide of 2009.
