Arrests made in Calhoun County business burglaries

Between June 9 & 10, 2009 a series of business burglaries were committed across the county. The front door of the Spirit Express in Oxford had been shot with an unknown type of firearm and several bottles of liquor were taken. The front door at TG’s Bait Shop in Alexandria had been broken and a large amount of cigarettes were taken and an attempt was made to take the cash register. An attempt was made to burglarize Prichard’s Gas in Alexandria. There were marks on the front door where someone had tried to force out the front door but the attempt failed. The ABC store in Saks, a Pawn Shop and Griffin’s Jewelers in Jacksonville were also burglarized. On surveillance video at TG’s bait Shop, footage of a silver Honda Accord was obtained. In the early morning of June 10th Anniston Police Department made a traffic stop on a silver Honda Accord traveling South on Hwy. 21 in Lenlock and observed a handgun, large amounts of cigarettes and several bottles of liquor in the vehicle. The Officer identified the driver as Nathan Phillip Wolfe and Wolfe was arrested. After further investigation by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office and Anniston police Department another suspect was identified as Deangelous Ortez Woodgett.

Nathan Phillip Wolfe was charged with Burglary 2nd x 2 (bond $20,000 each) and Attempted Burglary (bond $2,500). On June 15, 2009 Deangelous Ortez Woodgett was also arrested and charged with Burglary 2nd x 2 (bond to be set) and Attempted Burglary (bond $2,500). Both are being held in the Calhoun County Jail pending bond and have a court date of September 1, 2009. Both suspects also have charges with Anniston and Jacksonville Police Departments.
