Alabama shooting helps spark call for public safety changes

The United States Conference of Mayors cites the shooting of 10 people in Samson, Alabama as an example of the need for stronger public safety attention including gun safety policy.  Last month, a man went on a shooting rampage in the south Alabama towns of Geneva, Samson and Kinston before taking his own life.  Along with 9 other mass shootings across the country, the Alabama incident was used as an example of why a stronger ban on military style assault weapons is needed, among other measures.  You can see the full report at the following link.
