Alabama is moving forward in the development of ethanol fuel.
According to a news release, Governor Bob Riley announced Alabama is one of 10 states partnering with General Motors Corporation and the National Governors Association to promote the development and use of E-85 fuel.
The E-85 fuel is 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline.
Under the new partnerships, GM will provide technical assistance to Alabama, Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
That assistance will help determine new locations for E-85 fueling stations, optimize the E-85 supply, and promote usage of E-85.
