14-year-old jogger struck, killed in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Mobile police are investigating after a
14-year-old was struck and killed by a car while he was jogging.
    Police responded to the scene Thursday evening after receiving a
report about a man struck by a vehicle. They found Mark Chatom had
been hit by a pickup truck and suffered life-threatening injuries.
    He was taken to USA Medical Center where he later died. The
driver of the truck was not injured.
    Preliminary results show drugs and alcohol do not appear to be
contributing factors in the crash.
