Gas Prices Affect Producers
Central Alabama farmers at Wednesday’s Park Place Farmer’s Market in Downtown Birmingham said gas prices may prevent future participation in the region’s open air markets.
Producers from Chilton County said it costs them twice as much to travel to market and make sales this summer.
Still farmer’s have held firm on prices, because they said they understand everyone is feeling the pinch at the pump and consumers have less cash on hand.
