Officers Seize 60 Pounds Of Marijuana, 1 Arrested

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- Authorities say a North Carolina man was charged with trafficking marijuana that had been packaged to look like birthday presents.
Jefferson County sheriff's deputies and Hoover police officers said a drug dog discovered the 60 pounds of marijuana in a rental car Tuesday evening.
The bust occurred during a traffic stop on Interstate 20 east near I-459.
The driver, Jeffrey Bernard Edwards of Fayettville, North Carolina, was placed in the Jefferson County Jail under bonds totaling $510,000.
Edwards was also charged with hiding his identity.
