Hearing to Decide Jefferson County Commission Seat

» 0 Comments | Post a Comment
The Alabama Supreme Court will be hearing oral arguments today on who should permanently fill Jefferson County Commission seat District 1.

Gov. Riley appointed George Bowman to the District 1 seat left empty by Larry Langford last year.

In February, William Bell defeated Bowman in a special election that had been ordered by a Jefferson County Judge. That result has been appealed to the the Alabama Supreme Court.

Today, both sides will make their cases to the high court with a decision expected in the next several weeks.
