| Magnolia Creek Eating Disorders Treatment Center provides residential treatment for adult women with eating disorders. The program is comprehensive and multi-disciplinary, addressing the psychological, medical, nutritional, spiritual, and relational needs of our residents. Our program is designed to also treat secondary, coexisting disorders such as compulsive exercise, anxiety, depression, self-harm, addiction issues and trauma.
Treatment consists of a combination of group therapy, family therapy, individual psychotherapy, individual medical and nursing appointments, nutrition planning and education, exercise and movement, and recreational activities that take place in a home-like setting in a peaceful and natural environment.

Magnolia Creek treats adult women who have been diagnosed with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, or EDNOS (eating disorders not otherwise specified). There is no upper age limit. Treatment is entirely voluntary, though there is a 30-day minimum length of stay. Prospective residents must be medically stable, as approved by a physician, before they may be admitted to Magnolia Creek. Women who seek out Magnolia Creek have reached a point where the eating disorder has taken complete control of their lives, and they have a strong sense of hopelessness and helplessness. They have been unable to recover through lower levels of treatment (outpatient therapy, day treatment) and may have even “failed” other residential treatment programs. Their eating disorder behaviors require regular monitoring, particularly around mealtimes. |
Eating disorders do not discriminate. Magnolia Creek has provided treatment for women of all ages (several in their 40’s and 50’s) and from all ethnic and economic backgrounds. (We have also provided partial scholarships for many who cannot afford the full cost of treatment.) While we do not treat men at Magnolia Creek, many men suffer from eating disorders. Eating disorders are a disease, and research has shown that they have biological and genetic aspects to them. They have the highest fatality rate of all mental illnesses. |

Magnolia Creek places a strong emphasis on quality of care and focused, individualized attention on our residents:
Magnolia Creek offers 24-hour nursing, which very few centers of our size offer. Residents receive generous amount of individualized attention, meeting individually with their therapist three times a week, a medical professional twice a week, and the dietitian once a week. Our therapists carry one of the lowest client loads in the field: four residents at most. There is also always a therapist twelve hours a day, from 8:30am to 8:30pm. |
