Alabama receives verbal commitment from five-star cornerback

MILLBROOK, Ala. - The Alabama football program received a big boost in recruiting Thursday when cornerback Demarcus Milliner verbally committed to the Tide.

Milliner is a 6-1, 180-pound cornerback from Stanhope Elmore High School in Millbrook who’s rated a five-star recruit by virtually every recruiting service in the country.

As a junior in 2008, Milliner had seven interceptions and 57 tackles in 11 games, and on offense he rushed 44 times for 527 yards.

Milliner chooses Alabama over other SEC offers from Auburn, Georgia,  LSU, Tennessee, South Carolina and Ole Miss.  He becomes the 13th verbal commitment of Alabama’s 2010 recruiting class.
